1.2 million servings of protein enriched soup have arrived in Paarl East, South Africa for feeding local children.  The soup will be given to impoverished children, many of whom are severely malnourished.  South Africa is widely seen as the most successful African nation and yet almost half of South Africans live on less than $2 a day.

The last 2 weeks have seen the worst flooding in Pakistan in living memory.  The area affected is vast, over 600 miles from north Pakistan down to Sindh in the south.

An estimated 1,600 people have lost their lives so far but this figure is expected to rise.  Around 2 million people have been made homeless with concerns that many more will follow as the flood waters spread.
