On the walk to the line, and while waiting to start, the chickens and egg received lots of attention from fellow runners.  Surprisingly there were very few other costume runners taking part in the event which helped WER to stand out even more.

The weather was a touch grey but after a windy start and more than a few leaves and twigs ingested and inhaled along the embankment, the cool morning turned out perfect for running.
