How does WER decide which projects to fund?

WER supports projects through partnership with local people who have a good understanding of the needs of their community at grassroots levels. Most of our initial contact is through word of mouth or recommendation. When we receive a request for assistance, we firstly assess whether the project is in line with WER’s vision of bringing hope and practical help to children, their families and communities. We take time to build relationships so that WER and our local partner are comfortable and agreed on vision and strategies.

WER considers whether the human, financial and material resources needed are available and if the WER investment will bring recognizable and measurable change to those in need of our help.

Before committing to funding a project, WER must also ascertain whether the local project is prepared to meet our financial accountability controls and if the partners are prepared to receive advice and help from WER.

WER is a Christian organisation but this does not mean that we work exclusively with Christian partners - WER responds to people in need of help, irrespective of their race, religion or ethnicity.
