How does WER ensure that grants given to overseas partners are used appropriately?

WER monitors the way in which our grants are used to ensure that unnecessary spending or corruption are avoided. We receive two feedback forms per year from our partners, which, together with the visits that WER staff make to the projects, ensure that we are kept fully up-to-date with the project’s activities.

WER also requires partners to provide a set of their annual accounts, which have been independently audited if possible. Financial accountability with our partners is vital so that we can monitor the use of donor funds and meet the necessary standards required by UK charity law.
